MIL-T-81714 Series II - Composite Termination System. The Composite
Termination System consists of a system of wires and components that are
interconnected to one another by the use of a standard MIL-C-39029/22 socket
contact only. This eliminates the need for pin contacts which are located
in the mating components.
There are approximately twenty different devices that comprise the Common Termination System. These devices consist of a large variety modules, junctions, connectors, and rail assemblies. We picture a few of these devices here.
Product Data Sheet
|
|
MIL-T-81714 Series II
Composite Termination System CTD Series CTJ1 Series
|
|
The
Deutsch composite system uses a rugged socket contact terminated to internal
pin-buss bars. The Deutsch CTD series
module accents a large input current and distributes it through a pin-buss system to smaller feeder terminal strips and can be prewired to simplify final assembly.
Deutsch CTJ1 series modules series modules accommodate common busing
of 6 to 20 contacts in a small area.
Internal bussbars are configured to allow connections of various combinations of wires providing environmental resistance and vibration dampening.
|
|
MIL-T-81714 Series II Composite Termination System
CTJ7 and CTG Series Grounding Modules
|
|
The Deutsch CTJ7
Series and CTG Series are grounding modules for applications that require a
small, rugged device that also offers sealing and assembly ease. The Deutsch
Common Termination System Series Grounding Module (CTJ7 Series) provides an
excellent method of grounding multiple wires to a common location. It
accepts M39029/22 crimp-type sockets that mate with internal pins on a rugged
bus bar contained in a sealed plastic housing.
The one-piece construction is small, lightweight, dissipates heat, is shock and vibration resistant, and has an extremely low voltage drop.
For grounding single wires, the Deutsch Common Termination Grounding Series
adapter, a threaded stud mounting junction, accepts a single M39029/22 socket
contact.
It, too, has an environmental seal. It can also be used to adapt any electromechanical component using screw type terminations. (The threaded stud can replace the screw terminals.)
|
|
MIL-T-81714 Series II Composite Termination
System CTL Series CTM Series CTN Series
|
|
The Deutsch
Inline Junction (CTL) is used to connect two wires inline utilizing crimp-type
contacts.
The junction can then be placed in a wire bundle without being mounted. The
Multi-Junction (CTM) connects and busses four wires.
It can be used to replace “Y” splices and terminal strips. The Electronic
Multi-Junction (CTN) is an inline device that houses and shields any passive or
active components, including fuses, resistors, diodes, capacitors, etc.
|
|
MIL-T-81714
Series II Composite Termination System CTJ4 Series
|
|
The CTJ4 Electronic Component Module offers crimp-tool
terminations and a housing system for discrete components and circuits.
Each module houses small printed circuit boards incorporating diodes, resistors,
capacitors, relays, fuses, etc. The input/output wiring is sealed with a
silicone rubber grommet.
This packaging technique allows designers to include circuits in a system that would be considered environmentally hazardous. For example, transient suppression devices can be placed in or near the system or harness they were designed to protect. Other applications include rectifying, filtering, voltage clamping, and arc-suppression.

Socket Contacts
Product Data Sheet
|
|
The
most rugged contact in the industry designed to MIL-C-39029/22. The Deutsch Composite System is designed to use
MIL-C-39029/22 contacts.
These Deutsch contacts are designed with a protected or hooded entry providing increased durability during handling. Actual termination to the wire is accomplished by crimping, thus insuring reliability.
Reduced crimp barrel diameters are available to accommodate a variety of
wire sizes.
These contacts can be provided with extended life plating. Consult factory for further information.
Inside each composite module is a high technology cold extruded pin type
bussbar. As each socket contact is inserted into a composite component it
mates with this extruded pin allowing “pin and socket” engagement.

ABC modules can
be used in any combination within the same shell, thus allowing extensive
customization for specific applications. Each module holds the contacts in
place with a unique contact retention system. For environmental
protection, a silicone rear grommet with a triad wire seal and a
cork-in-a-bottle interfacial seal are featured. The ABC system uses
solderless, rear-release, cirmp-type MIL-C-39029 contacts. Each ABC
connector has a 1,500-cycle durability rating due to the Deutschcoat V
high-lubricity coating process used on the contacts.

High Density Bayonet Locking MIL-C-81511 Connector.
The Deutsch 815 Series features an individual Contact Release system ((ICR),
which permits each crimp-type contact to be individually inserted, released and
extracted from the rear of the connector in the coupled or uncoupled
position. during contact insertion, there is a positive feel when the
contact reaches the locked position.
|

MIL-C-81511 High
Density Bayonet-locking Connector
Product Data Sheet
|
|
The Deutsch 815 Series connectors are intermateable and
intermountable with earlier versions of MIL-C-81511. However, the shorter
contacts of the Deutsch connector should not be intermixed with those of Series
1 and 2 connectors.
The scoop-proof features of these connectors prevents damage
to pin contacts if the mating half of the connector is accidentally wiped across
the connector front. The 815 connectors are available in two
versions: the long-shell version (50% scoop-proof) and the short-shell
version, which will prevent scooping damage providing the pin contacts are used
in the receptacle half of the connector. The long-shell version will
prevent scooping damage with the pins used in either the plug or the receptacle.
